Anatoly Galaktionovich Petritsky was a Ukrainian Soviet painter, graphic artist, stage designer, art theorist, one of the leading representatives of the Ukrainian avant-garde of the 1920s. Studied at the Kiev Art School under A. A. Murashko, 1910-1918. Since 1917 he worked as a stage designer, was influenced by A. A. Exter. In the revolutionary years he was engaged in the creation of posters and propaganda posters. In the early 1920s he moved to Moscow. In 1922-1924 he attended classes at VKhUTEMAS, where he studied under the guidance of A. D. Drevin and N. A. Udaltsova.
