A lot of two antique items. The first: a book, Belgien Feit Seinen Revolution (German Edition) by Ignaz Kuranda (Austrian, 1812–1884); hardcover; Leipzig, 1846. Verlag von Fr. Ludw. Herbig. The second: a British school style miniature hand painted oval portrait of an old lady on hand carved from natural materials plate; framed in brass with a loop on the top. Provenance: The present lot on auction form part of the Kuranda's family estate. The provenance of items can be tracked back to Felix Kuranda in XIX Century Austrian Empire, member of a well known family of bankers and politicians; directly related to the Karpeles, Wittelshofer, Milne And Lederer families. The most chronological recent lots are former belongings from USA veteran Major Thom Stellinger-Scott related through marriage with the Kuranda lineage. He was a veteran of Korean War as well as a reputed amateur photographer and artist. The Stellinger-Scott family resided for decades at Montauk Long Island NY.
