A large elongated porcelain vase executed in a traditional Japanese style. Satsuma ware is a type of Japanese porcelain that originated in Satsuma Province; since the 19th century, it was mainly produced for Western export and therefore elaborately decorated. The item is covered with a millefleur-like "filled-in painting" depicting Japanese warriors and officials in traditional attire. Pastel color palette, a lot of ornamental gilding. Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear. Yellowing, scuffs, damage at edges and corners. Repaired cracks on top. Refer to photos. Sold As Is.
