A vintage bronze medal made in Leningrad and dedicated to the 100th anniversary from the day of birth of Isaak Izrailevich Brodsky (Russian, 1884-1939), a Soviet painter whose work provided a blueprint for the art movement of socialist realism. He is known for his iconic portrayals of Lenin and idealized, carefully crafted paintings dedicated to the events of the Russian Civil War and Bolshevik Revolution. The medal is embossed on both sides. Front of the medal shows the portrait of the artist inscripted in Russian Isaak Israilevich Brodsky. The reverse side features S.N. Volkov, the name of the artist who designed this medal, the date 1987 with the foundry mark.
