41 reviews

A pair of antique copper plate etchings on thick laid paper. The first: Portrait of a Lady after Agnolo Bronzino, born Agnolo di Cosimo but most commonly referred to as Bronzino; engraved by master etcher Adolphe Lalauze, 1876; signed in the plate lower to the center. Bronzino (1503-1572) was an Italian Mannerist painter from Florence. Adolphe Lalauze (1838-1906) was a prolific French etcher who made the illustrations for many books. He won various awards and was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour.
