An antique Russian Orthodox King of Glory icon having in the center of the image of Jesus Christ, and to the right and to his left, respectively the Virgin Mary and John the Baptist. Christ is depicted on a throne with the Gospel in his left hand and right-hand blessing gesture. Hand painted on a wood panel. Circa the 19th century. King of Glory icons are the main located in the center of a temple. It was common in the 17th century. Usually put in the second zone of an iconostasis, above the Royal Doors, on doors at the entrance to the church.
