A set of seven vintage cartes de visite perhaps the most ubiquitous form of nineteenth century photography. The 7 cabinet photo cards are depicting male and female Russians. From the late 1850s through the latter half of the century, these economical keepsakes circulated en masse and spurred a veritable “cartomania”. Some hand painted.
