Design and illustrations by Mendel Gorshman, 1902 to 1972, a Soviet graphic artist of Jewish descent, student of Nikolay Kupriyanov. Iosif Pavlovich Utkin, 1903 to 1944, was a Russian poet of the Civil War and World War II generation.
