Oil on canvas painting. After the ca. 1850s artwork titled The Barefoot Boy by Eastman Johnson, 1824 to 1906, an American genre artist and co-founder of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The initial painting was created as an illustration for John Greenleaf Whitters poem of the same title. It depicts a barefooted boy standing in the forest stream. Unsigned. Ca. late 19th century.
