The handle is made from old, original Bog Oak which can be dated centuries ago. The handle has natural cracks, which do not affect the handling. The handle has smooth edging after many years of use. According to legend, this axe was brought by Nordic Vikings in 900 AD to Kievan Russ due to their migration from Varag to Greek. From Skandinavian North to Mediteranian South.
