An antique Russian Orthodox hand painted icon of Theotokos, Mother Of God Vladimirskaya, the earliest known surviving and one of the most revered miraculous icons of the Russian Orthodox Church. A mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on wood panel. The icon features an embossed silver plated riza or oklad, engraved with traditional detailed patterns and adorned with polychrome enamel floral and foliage motifs. Inscribed lower to the center.
