Established to commemorate the victorious Battle of Zielence and is Polands highest military decoration for heroism and courage in the face of the enemy during wartime. The orders badge takes the form of a cross, with the inscription on the horizontal arms reading VIRTUTI and on the vertical arms MILITARI. At the center of the cross, on the obverse, is a Polish eagle displayed on a round shield, encircled by a laurel wreath. Hallmarked. Complete with the screwback.
