The lot includes two antique Japanese Sagemono tobacco pouches from the Meiji era, 1868 to 1912. The first tobacco pouch is deep purple with an embroidered dragon image and a metal dragon-shaped clasp (kanamono). A bunch of chains of metal links fastened with a ring with the image of a dragon attached to the pouch. On top of the chains is attached a round-shape medallion consisting of natural materials and metal, also with a relief image of a dragon. The second pouch is light beige, the kanamono is modeled as a Fuji mountain, embroidered with an image of a dragon, hanging chains attaching the netsuke Kagamibuta also carved with a dragon, to the pouch.
