The miniature study is after a large installation on the campus of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts where the American sculptor, painter and printmaker Elliot Offner was professor of art. Marked with the cast inscription, Smith College, on one side, the inscription of edition of 150 in the casting back side along with JM in an oval, and the copyright signature, Offner, top of the base. Elliot Melville Offner was an American sculptor, painter, printmaker and typographer, and longtime professor of art at Smith College.
