A traditional African Punu Lumbo hand carved wooden tribal mask native to the Ogooue River basin in Gabon, especially in the south in Ngounie Province. The oval shaped face depicts gently arching brows above thin, slit like eyes, delicately carved nose and sensual lips. The mask is adorned with a carved ornament to the edge and probably represents the Sun. Circa the early 20th century.
