Lot 0380: ANCIENT MESOPOTAMIAN BULL FIGURINE CA 3000 BC

41 reviews

An ancient bull figurine, identified as being from Mesopotamia or North Syria, circa 3000 BC. The figurine is made from a natural material. The bull is sculpted in a reclining pose, its head turned slightly to the side. The carving shows details of the bulls form. The figurine rests on a roughly hewn base made of the same material. The base appears to have cracks and imperfections, further attesting to the age of the piece. The overall effect is one of antiquity and historical significance. Provenance: Robert Haber Collection, acquired before 1950. Collectible Historical Artifacts, Figurines, Animal Figures, Home Decor, Archaeological Finds And Relics.
