Attributed to James Ernest Brierly, an early 20th Century American artist, oil painting on canvas depicting a portrait of a woman. Signed lower right. Framed. James Brierly is known for Landscape painting, illustration. He was originally from the East, having studied in Worcester and Boston, Massachusetts; New York and Philadelphia. He exhibited portraits at various exhibitions at the Stevens and Congress Hotels in Chicago, Illinois, under the auspices of the All Illinois Society of Fine Arts, of which he was a member.
