An antique 19th-century Indian miniature painting on enamel plaque. British Raj period. The artwork depicts a portrait of Mumtaz Mahal, the first wife of the 17th-century Emperor Shah Jahan I. The Taj Mahal in Agra, one of the Wonders of the World, was commissioned by him to act as the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal. Golden frame with a suspension ring on top.
