Oil on canvas painting by Fritz Scholder, 1937 to 2005, a Native American artist and art teacher. Scholders most influential works were post-modern in sensibility and somewhat Pop Art in execution as he sought to deconstruct the mythos of the American Indian. This lot is a fine example of the painters style. It depicts an Indian man on horseback against a color-block desert landscape. Signed by the artist in the lower right. Titled The Last Warrior and dated 1989 on the backside. Golden frame. Collectible Fine Art, Equestrain Portraiture, Americana.
