Monotype on paper by Harold Barling Town, 1924 to 1990, Canadian artist, founding member of the Abstract Expressionist group Painters Eleven. Since 1953, Town exectued SAPs, Single Autographic Prints, of abstract figures. Owing to this series, the artist was nominated to represent Canada at the Venice Biennale of 1956. This lot is a fine and rare example of a SAP, due to its monochrome character. Signed by the artist and dated 1956 in the lower left and on the backside. Collectible Modernist Graphic Art Prints.
