An antique Russian Imperial Judaica silver Tzedakah charity box. Decorated throughout with scrolled filigree designs. The hinged lid features a star of David, a prominent and meaningful symbol in Jewish tradition. Hallmarked on the bottom with an 84 Russian silver standard, a Cyrillic makes mark A.Yu for Adam Juden, 1816 to 1878, an assay mark TT under the date 1857, and other Russian hallmarks.
