Irma Stern, South African, 1894 to 1966, a watercolor painting on paper depicting a village scene. Signed lower right and dated 1941. Matted and framed. Irma Stern was a major South African artist who achieved national and international recognition in her lifetime. Almost one hundred solo exhibitions were held during her lifetime both in South Africa and Europe, including Germany, France, Italy and England.
