An antique Islamic ceramic jar with an animal design, ca. 8th to 10th century. The jar has a bulbous body with a narrow neck and flared rim, and two loop handles attached at the shoulders. It is covered in a turquoise colored glaze with crazing throughout. The body is decorated with relief circular designs with inscriptions and a central animal motif in relief.
