An East African, Ethiopian, Harar Telsum metal amulet necklace featuring a crescent shaped centerpiece. The centerpiece is made of a dark metal and is heavily decorated with small, textured elements and applied decorative forms. The centerpiece is suspended from a fine chain necklace. Numerous small bells are attached to the bottom of the crescent by sets of rings. Similar amulets were worn against the evil eye, damage, and protection from evil spirits.
