Oil on canvas painting. After the 1970 artwork titled The Eclipse by Alma Woodsey Thomas, 1891 to 1978, an African-American artist and teacher who lived and worked in Washington, DC. The Eclipse was the last work Thomas created as part of her Space series. It was inspired by the total solar eclipse that occurred on March 7, 1970, and was visible from across the Eastern United States. Signature pictorial manner, an abstract colorful circle composition. Signed and dated 1974 in the lower right. Collectible Modernist Fine Art, Women Artists.
