Patinated bronze sculpture, after the 1913 figure titled Danaide by Constantine Brancusi, 1876 to 1957, a Romanian-born French Abstract sculptor. The piece is a portrait of Margit Pogany, a Hungarian artist who sat for Brancusi several times in 1910 and 1911 while she was in Paris studying painting. Shortly after her return to Hungary, Brancusi executed several versions of female heads based on the image of Pogany. The high level of stylization makes this portrait a completely abstract form. Artists signature, numbered 2 out of 6 on the bottom. White granite base. Collectible Sculpture, Fine Art And Decor.
