Titled and inscribed on the front of the frame. Provenance: from the Oasis Gallery. Laval, Quebec, Canada. Edwin Holt is known for Landscape, figure in landscape, genre painting. Edwin Frederick Holt was born in Hampstead in 1830 and lived most of his adult life in Dunstable. He studied at the Royal Academy of Art, where he won the silver medal in 1854. He exhibited seven pictures at the Royal Academy, twelve at the British Institution and forty at the Royal Society of British Artists.
