Anatoly Ponomarenko was born February 2, 1922 in the village of Katerinopoli. He graduated from the Kiev Art College. Teachers by specialty A. Bondarovich, A. Wednesday, M. Umansky. Member of the Great Patriotic War. He worked in the field of theatrical and decorative art, book graphics, design and medal medals. Major works: The Island of Your Dreams by M. Zarudny; sketches for the ballet Sorochinskaya Fair by V. Gomolyaki; the decoration of the three volume book T. G. Shevchenko, K., 1964; artistic decoration of the Ukrainian section of the Soviet pavilion in Montreal at the Expo 67 exhibition; sketches of medals of the laureate of the Republican Komsomol Prize named after M. Ostrovsky 1967; series of badges and others. He participated in exhibitions: republican since 1954, all union since 1956, foreign since 1959. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, medals, and the Grammy Hall of the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR.
