41 reviews

Fedir Zotykovych Konovaliuk, 1890 to 1984, Ukrainian, an oil painting on cardboard depicting a landscape of a blossoming orchard or garden in springtime. Several fruit trees, primarily apple trees, are in full bloom, with their branches laden with white and light pink blossoms. The trees are arranged in a seemingly informal manner across a grassy or earthen area. In the background, a darker line of evergreen trees suggests a woodland edge. A portion of a wooden fence is visible in the lower left. Signed lower right F. Konovalyuk 1964. The board is stamped on the backside. Fedir Konovalyuk was an outstanding painter, colorist, and illustrator. He studied at the Lavra icon painting workshop 1903 to 1909 . Studied at the Kiev Art School with V. K. Menk, A. A. Murashko, the Higher Art School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg with V. E. Makovsky, Kiev Art Institute with F. G. Krichevsky. Russian Ukrainian Soviet Era Fine Art, Village Landscape Paintings, and Collectibles. One of a kind artwork.
