An Ancient Greek terracotta vessel, aryballos type. Hellenistic period, ca. 300 BC. An aryballos is a spherical vessel with a narrow neck and single handle. It was used to contain perfume or oil, and is often depicted in vase paintings being used by athletes during bathing. The vase in this lot features a relief swirl ornament.
