A traditional Pre Historical, Native American, pottery tripodal Caddo vessel of an abstract calabash form made from shell burnished clay. The vessel features a large, spherical body, a thin neck, and three squash shaped legs. The vessel is finely engraved with traditional ornaments. An almost phallicform foot completes the leg. Finished in a glossy brown lustrous polish, the design stands out against the background of this unique pottery form.
