Vu Cao Dam, Vietnamese, 1908 to 2000, an oil on canvas painting depicting a woman with a child. Signed lower left by the artist and dated 1977. Additionally inscribed Maternity on the label mounted to the frame. Vu Cao Dam was one of the alumni of Victor Tardieus Ecole des Beaux-Arts de lIndochine in Hanoi in the 1930s, along with Mai Trung Thu, Le Pho and woman painter Le Thi Luu to emigrate to France and make a career in Paris.
