A Russian Orthodox icon of Mother Of God Kazanskaya. A mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wooden board with kovcheg. Inscribed in Church Slavonic in the upper part. The Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is a revered miraculous icon of the Mother of God, which appeared in Kazan in 1579. One of the most revered icons of the Russian Orthodox Church.
