An antique Russian Orthodox hand painted icon of Vladimirskaya Mother of God. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board with gilding. Titled in Church Slavonic on the left and right sides. This icon also has images of saints on the sides. Vladimirskaya icon is a 12th century Byzantine icon, an early example of the Eleusa iconographic type and one of the most culturally significant pieces of art in Russian history.
