Prosper Lecourtier, French, 1851 to 1925, a bronze sculpture titled LOublie, The Forgotten. Cast after the original 1904 model, it depicts a donkey in a poignant, lifelike pose. The piece is signed on the base. Lecourtier, a student of the esteemed Emmanuel Fremiet, specialized in animalier sculptures and was a prominent exhibitor at the Paris Salon from 1875 until his passing.
