Carl Kauba, Austrian, 1865 to 1922, a patinated bronze sculpture depicting Standing Bear, a Ponca chief and Native American civil rights leader who successfully argued in the U.S. District Court in 1879 in Omaha and became the first Native American judicially granted civil rights under American law. Signed with casting, C. Kauba, on the sculpture. Mounted on a rectangular shaped marble base. Circa: the early 20th century.
