A miniature Russian Orthodox hand painted icon of Jesus Christ. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Presented in an unusual Silver oklad or riza made in the filigree technique featuring a foliage design. Marked with a 91 Silver hallmark, a makers mark, a year stamp 1854, and other marks. Russian Silver Icons, Religious Wares and Collectibles. Total weight 50 g.
