A pair of antique mid-19th century French chromolithographs produced by Etienne Isidore Hangard-Mauge, active from 1855 to 1872. The prints are facsimile reproductions of prominent French medieval manuscript illuminations. First. Ferdinand Sere, Auguste Achintre. Mort du Christ, Tire d un livre Evangiles, ecrit et orne dans le Style Anglo-Saxon. Death of Christ, Taken from a book of the Gospels, written and decorated in the Anglo-Saxon style. 10th century. Second. Jules Gaspard Gsell. Costumes divers no. 2, Reduction Facsimile d apres les Manuscripts et les Vitraux. Various Costumes No. 2, Facsimile Reduction from Manuscripts and Stained Glass Windows. 12-13th century. Each lithograph is dated above, titled and marked underneath.
