An antique Swedish oil on board Expressionist landscape painting in the manner of August Strindberg, 1894. The fine painting depicts an expressive landscape with spectacular thunderclouds over a field also reminiscent of a stormy sky. Signed with initials lower right. Additionally signed and dated 1894 on the reverse side. Johan August Strindberg, 1849 to 1912, was a Swedish playwright, novelist, poet, essayist, and painter. A representative of Swedish naturalism, the founder of modern Swedish literature and theatre. One of a kind artwork.
