A vintage patinated bronze sculpture depicting a young man discus thrower. The model for this sculpture of an athletic young man was also made of bronze around 460 BC by Polykleitos, one of the most important sculptors of ancient Greece. The work, which has not survived, was copied in various variations in antiquity. These variations can now be found in the British Museum and the Museo Torlonia in Rome, among other places.
