An antique Russian Orthodox hand painted polyptych icon featuring seven panels, one central panel with three on either side connected by hinges. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Each depicts at least one iconographic Biblical image, including episodes from the life of Christ, such as His baptism and resurrection, portraits of the four Gospel writers at work, seraphs, and at least one Old Testament scene.
