An ancient Hellenistic gold and hand carved garnet stone pendant with an intaglio seal. Circa 300 to 100 BC. The oval shaped gold pendant is decorated with garnet stone inserts along the edge and an engraved image of an owl in the middle. Only wealthy citizens could afford this kind of jewelry.
