Lolo Dolores Nieto Soldevilla, Cuban, French, 1901 to 1971, mixed media installation on wood board depicting an abstract composition. Circa: 1950s. Signed lower right. Framed. Completed letter of authenticity, hand inscribed, signed by Pedro De Oraa and dated 2014. Provenance: comes from Gloria Consuegra, ceramist and the boss designer of Encanto store. Lolo Soldevilla is known for mixed media panels with geometric shapes. Lolo Soldevilla was a painter, sculptor, draftsman and Cuban engraver. She was one of the most important representatives of abstract geometric art in her country, and is considered a seminal figure in the promotion of Cuban Art, especially Concrete Cuban art abstraction with international influence. She strongly rejected nationalist figurative work of the Vanguardistas, which pushed for radical social reforms. Her methods included painting, drawing and collage.
