A group of three antique Persian Iranian Safavid dynasty hand woven embroidered textile fragments, circa 17th century, showcase the dynastys intricate craftsmanship. The design features stylized flowers in a diamond lattice, with a rich yet subtle color palette dominated by shades of red, green, and dark blue on a beige or golden background. Safavid Iran or Safavid Persia, also referred to as the Safavid Empire, was one of the greatest Iranian empires after the 7th century Muslim conquest of Persia, which was ruled from 1501 to 1736 by the Safavid dynasty.
