An antique Moro Punal or Gunong short sword or dagger with matched scabbard. Moro people are Muslims, who lived mostly in the Philippines. The characteristic blade is double edged with carved wood and brass handle and matched scabbard. The gunong is a knife from Mindanao and the Visayas islands of the Philippines. In the ancient past, it was called bunong by the Tagalog people. It is essentially a diminutive form of the larger kalis or kris. Circa the late 19th or early 20th century.
