An antique Italian Sorrento handcrafted hairpin olivewood box with a swallow bird depicted. Circa the late 19th to early 20th century. Designed to store hairpins, but can be used as a trinket box. The hinged lid of the box depicts hairpins and a flying swallow and is inscribed Sorrento. Inside there are 3 sections. Brass fittings.
