A World War II type Nazi German steel cigarette case with a hinged lid. The lid is decorated with a ribbed design, and inscribed, Panzer Division Wiking, and decorated with SS runes. The backside is adorned with an etched checkered pattern. The 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking was an infantry and later an armoured division of Waffen SS. It was recruited from foreign volunteers in Scandinavia, the Netherlands and Belgium under the command of German officers. During World War II, the division served on the Eastern Front.
