Ramkinkar Baij was an Indian sculptor and painter, one of the pioneers of modern Indian sculpture and a key figure of Contextual Modernism. Besides being an early modernist of Indian art, he was an iconic sculptor, painter and graphic artist. RamkinkarBaije trained at Kala Bhavana, the art school at Rabindranath Tagores Shantiniketan and was under the guidance of Nandalal Bose.
