Albert Deman, born in January 1929, in Bousbecque, municipality of the North. However, he has already had time to be noticed by the members of a drawing academy in Roubaix who made him the winner of their competition. In 1945, he studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lille, and at that of Nantes in 1946. After 1971, he settled in La Rochelle. He appears in Paris at the Salon des Peintres, witnesses of their time from 1957 to 1960. He divides his work into periods: from 1956 to 1957, it is the so called Chicago period, from 1971 to 1972, pear tree period, 1978, period Mobilist, 1979 to 1983, pastel period, 1984, copper engraving period, 1984 to 85, Maghreb period.
