A large antique German KPM porcelain plaque, of an oval form, depicting Madonna with the Child, after The Sistine Madonna, also called the Madonna di San Sisto, the original oil painting by Raphael Santi, Italian, 1483 to 1520. Circa the early 20th century. Housed in a gilt wood and gesso frame. The Sistine Madonna is a painting by the Italian painter Raphael Santi, known by various names. Since 1754 it has been in the Old Masters Gallery in Dresden. Belongs to the generally recognized peaks of the art of the High Renaissance in Italy and around the world.
